Name: Michael Marx Michael hails from La Jolla, California and has worked in Santa Fe; Austin; Manhattan; Hoboken; Philly; Portland, ME; San Diego; Middlebury, CT; Paris, France and Baltimore. He has an advertising degree from Syracuse University, as well as a post-graduate Culinary Arts degree.
Michael’s 24 years of restaurant/catering experience includes busboy, waiter, bartender, cook and ultimately Executive Chef/Owner. Five of those years were spent catering for the Motion Picture Industry.
In 2000, Michael opened the very successful Blue Agave Restaurante y Tequileria in Federal Hill. He sold it five years later, took a few months off…then came RUB Authentic Texas Barbeque. The concept was over 4 years in the making and countless field trips back to Texas. “There are a few more ideas up my sleeve”, so watch for some more exciting concepts in the near future!
